Travel Shops is a new feature on the Expedia app that allows you to aggregate and save all your travel recommendations and content in one link. The best part – you can earn commissions through Travel Shops!
We've extended Travel Shops access to select partners and creators with this first invite-only iteration. If you don’t have access yet, stay tuned – exciting news is coming soon.
Travel Shops and Collections
Once you’ve created an Affiliate Hub account and opt in to create a Travel Shop, our self-serve tool will walk you through all the necessary steps.
You can generate links to your Travel Shop, Collections, or individual properties that you want to highlight. Those can then be shared via social media (a story, post, or link in bio) and will redirect to the Travel Shop on the Expedia app or website. In addition, your Shop will be considered for a homepage feature and on our search results page/property destinations pages within the Expedia app.
Collections are a group of stays bound by a common factor that will be placed in your Travel Shop. For now, you can add your favorite stays. In the future, you’ll have the chance to add your own property videos alongside 220K+ unique activities, 500+ airlines, and more from Expedia's inventory to your Collections.

Steps to create a Travel Shop
1. Connect your accounts and Expedia app.
Ensure you have access to the following:
- Your Expedia account
- Your affiliate account
- The Expedia app on your phone (App Store or Google Play)
If not, follow the links above to sign in and download the app. Then, connect your affiliate account with your Expedia app within your affiliate account profile's Tool settings.
2. Build your Travel Shop profile
Log in to your affiliate account and you'll see a Travel Shops banner across that homepage. Click it to begin creating your Travel Shop profile.
Here, you will choose your shop name, point of sale (country), bio, shop URL, social channels, and more.
Note: The point of sale (POS) you choose will only be available to your audience in that country e.g., if you choose the US POS, that link will only work for those in the US. When posting links to your Travel Shop, be sure to include a note to make that distinction clear for your audience. For example, “This link is available for all my US audience, more geos coming soon!”
3. Create your Collections in the app
With your Travel Shop created and your account connected to your app, you can now add hotel recommendations via Collections.
Make sure you have the latest version of the Expedia app, which you can check and update by visiting the App Store or Google Play.
Then, find a property on the app to add it to your first Collection. Alternately, within the app, tap on Account → Affiliates → Collections to begin creating your first Collection.
Travel Shops partner disclosure
When you share an affiliate link within your content, you must disclose the partnership to your audience. Ensure you include a legally compliant disclosure by doing all of the following:
- All links to your Travel Shops should include a clear and conspicuous disclosure, such as “Earns Commissions” near the affiliate link.
- Identify clearly and conspicuously to your audience that you are an Expedia Travel Shops partner at the start of the post caption by including #ExpediaPartner OR clearly stating that you are working with Expedia (e.g., "I have partnered with Expedia to create a Travel Shop"). Note that outside of the US and Canada, you must also use “#ad”.
- Follow any social media platform guidelines, including using features like endorsement checkboxes.
- When writing copy or adding commentary regarding your Travel Shop, ensure that it's always honest and truthful.
- Follow the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations or any relevant regional regulations. Visit the FTC site for more information on FTC's Endorsement Guides and Disclosures for Social Media Influencers.
Creator talking points and recommendations
Here are some tips from our team to help set you up for success:
- Include footage of your travels, ideally with some of the properties you’re recommending in your Travel Shop via social
- Offer a way for viewers to access your Travel Shop / Collections via link share or link in bio
- Feel free to focus on your Travel Shop OR individual Collections. For example, "These are my top 5 hotel recommendations in NYC!", or “Want to see all my hotel recommendations in one place? Check out my Travel Shop on the Expedia App linked in bio.”
- Include keywords: Travel Shop & @expedia
Here’s a great example of one of our partners speaking about Travel Shops.
